The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an ambitious, energetic and commercially driven Business Development Manager to play a key role in expanding its presence within the data centre market.
This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys opening new doors, developing long-term customer relationships and taking ownership of the complete sales process—from identifying opportunities through to securing new business and growing strategic accounts.
You'll be joining a newly established division with genuine scope to influence its direction, operating with the agility of a start‑up while benefiting from the backing, resources and stability of a highly successful international organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, Linked In outreach and relationship building.
- Identify, qualify and secure new customers within the data centre and critical infrastructure sectors.
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to negotiation, closing and ongoing account development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage a healthy pipeline to consistently achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Deliver customer presentations, commercial proposals and solution‑based sales discussions.
- Work closely with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasting and sales reporting.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
- Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events and exhibitions.
Skills & Experience
- Proven success within business development, sales or new business acquisition.
- Background within data centres, structured cabling, networking, fibre, connectivity or technology infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience winning new customers through proactive sales activity.
- Experience managing the complete sales process independently.
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Highly motivated, resilient and target‑driven.
- Strong commercial awareness with a customer‑first approach.
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
- Able to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
