Our client is a leading MNC in the maritime industry. As part of its expansion, they are seeking a Business Development Manager to grow their shipping, maritime technology, and third‑party ship management business.

We are hiring on behalf of a global shipowner and shipping solutions provider with a strong presence across Europe and Asia. The company is known for its focus on quality, safety, and sustainability, combining deep maritime expertise with advanced technologies to provide dependable services.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive new commercial opportunities, evaluating potential ventures and leading initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Negotiate, structure and manage commercial contracts that support sustainable growth and long‑term business development in shipping.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Technical, Operations, and Finance—to shape and advance new business lines within ship management and ship owning.
  • Develop and maintain revenue forecasts, track key commercial metrics, and produce clear reports for senior management.
  • Build compelling business cases and annual budgets, articulating value propositions for new and existing services.
  • Analyse market trends and competitive landscapes within shipping to identify leads and develop relationships.
  • Design and implement commercial growth strategies for diverse activities such as ship management, training services and emerging business lines.

Profile

  • Qualifications in Business Management, Business Development, Law, Economics or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a commercial, business development, investment or strategy role within shipping, commodities, energy, finance, infrastructure or a related field.
  • Demonstrated track record in conceiving, structuring and executing new business initiatives in past roles.
  • Capable of handling a broad and evolving portfolio of activities.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Broad understanding of shipping markets, commodities flow, commercial structures in shipping, regulatory frameworks and ship management industry is desirable; expertise in one of these areas is a must.
