Comac Medical is expanding its commercial footprint across the UK and Nordic region and is seeking an experienced Business Development Director to drive revenue growth across the region. This is a senior, individual contributor role with high visibility and direct impact on company growth, focused primarily on biotech and mid-sized pharmaceutical clients.
The ideal candidate is a hunter-style business development leader with a strong CRO background, deep industry relationships, and a proven ability to originate and close complex clinical research partnerships.
What Will You Be Responsible For?- Own and drive new business development across the UK and Nordic region, with a primary focus on biotech and specialty pharmaceutical clients;
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed annual revenue targets;
- Identify, qualify, and close clinical research opportunities across Phase I–IV clinical development services;
- Build strong, trusted relationships with C-level executives, clinical development leaders, and procurement teams;
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and client meetings through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution;
- Collaborate closely with operations, proposals, and scientific teams to deliver competitive, client-centric solutions;
- Represent Comac Medical at industry conferences, partnering events, and key client meetings;
- Monitor market trends, competitive intelligence, and evolving client needs to inform commercial strategy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline (advanced degree preferred);
- 5-8+ years of business development experience within a CRO, clinical research organization, or life sciences services environment;
- Proven track record of closing mid- to large-value CRO deals in the UK and/or Western European markets;
- Strong existing network within UK and Western European biotech/pharma hubs;
- Solid understanding of clinical development pathways, UK/EU regulatory frameworks, and CRO service models;
- Highly self-motivated, results-driven mindset with strong negotiation and presentation skills;
- Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with global delivery and scientific teams.
