Why Greencore? Following the combination with Bakkavor in January 2026, we’re one of the UK’s leading creators of convenience food, driven by a simple purpose: to make everyday taste better. As a vibrant and fast-moving business, we’re proud to employ over 28,000 talented colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots in the UK and the US. Together, we bring delicious food to life. Our products cover every meal occasion from breakfast through to dinner and dessert, with lunch and snacking in between. In FY25, our shared passion helped us achieve combined revenues of approximately £4bn. Our extensive direct to store (DTS) network, with 17 depots across the UK, allows us to deliver fresh and frozen food both our own and from trusted partners to thousands of stores every day, ensuring consumers enjoy the very best, whenever and wherever they shop.
This role sits at the heart of Group IT’s Hosting and Identity function, combining both strategic oversight and hands-on delivery. As a Product Lead, you’ll take ownership of one or more infrastructure products or services across their full lifecycle—from initial concept through to retirement—ensuring they continuously meet business needs. You’ll manage demand for new capabilities and enhancements, working closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and drive delivery, often in an Agile environment. Leading a team of product specialists, you’ll oversee ongoing improvements, supplier relationships, and service performance, while contributing to strategic planning and aligning your roadmap with wider Group IT objectives. You’ll also stay close to emerging technologies and industry trends, using these insights to shape future direction and drive innovation.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and develop teams, including setting objectives, monitoring performance, and driving continuous improvement
- Own the full product lifecycle (strategy, backlog, prioritisation, launch, optimisation, and retirement)
- Define, analyse, and prioritise business and technical requirements for medium-complexity initiatives
- Select and apply appropriate delivery methodologies (agile and/or plan-driven)
- Design customer-focused product propositions informed by data, market insight, and business capability
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including influencing, challenging, and building effective relationships across customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Apply a commercial and analytical mindset, with experience in cost-benefit analysis, business case support, and aligning solutions to strategic objectives
- Experience managing third-party suppliers, including performance monitoring, contract adherence, and driving service improvement
- Identify root causes of complex business problems and translate them into clear, actionable solutions
- Support product launches, communications, and change activities, including planning, risk management, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and organisational processes
- Willingness to travel to UK and international sites as required
What we’re looking for:
- Degree, relevant professional qualification, or equivalent practical experience in IT/Product environments
- Proven experience across the full product lifecycle, with strong commercial awareness and understanding of product value and profitability
- Experience delivering technology change or projects (Agile and/or structured delivery environments)
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and communicate effectively at all levels
- Solid understanding of business operations, processes, and market context, with the ability to align solutions to strategic goals
- Experience working with IT infrastructure, platforms, and services (e.g. cloud, SaaS, suppliers, and internal systems)
- Analytical and problem-solving expertise, including requirements gathering, process modelling, option evaluation, and root cause analysis
- Experience contributing to business cases, procurement activities (e.g. RFPs/ITTs), and supplier/service management
- Comfortable working within governance frameworks, with awareness of standards, compliance, and security considerations
- Strong commercial, organisational, and time management skills with high attention to detail
- Skilled in building relationships across cross-functional and technical/non-technical teams, adapting style to suit different audiences
- Awareness of emerging technologies, industry trends, and their application within a global business context
What you’ll get in return:
- Competitive salary and job-related benefits
- Holidays
- Annual Target Bonus
- Car Allowance
- Competitive matched pension contributions
- Life insurance up to 4x salary
- PMI Cover: Individual
- Company share save scheme
- Greencore Qualifications
- Exclusive Greencore employee discount platform
