The role of Principal Integrations Architect
Day to day, this person will work with clients and internal teams to design complex Azure and Dynamics 365 integration solutions, helping shape technical approaches across multiple platforms rather than a single product area. They will spend a significant amount of time in customer meetings, workshops, pre-sales engagements and technical discussions, acting as the technical lead and communicating confidently with both business and technical stakeholders.
Although primarily an architect, they will also need to stay hands-on, reviewing solution designs, guiding development teams and occasionally writing or validating code to ensure integrations can be successfully delivered.
Travel and Hybrid Working
We have an environment that gives you the flexibility to achieve an effective work-life balance for you and your family, whether you want to work from home or at one of our luxury Cubo offices around the UK. We continue to offer our customers onsite consultancy time if requested, so flexibility around travel and overnight stays is expected, dependent on the project requirements. Onsite time is planned ahead of time, within 2-week blocks, so you know well in advance where you will be working. We encourage those in customer-facing roles to aim to come into the office at least once a month, and also team meetings and client meetings; however, you can work from Nottingham HQ or any Cubo office regularly if you prefer, whichever suits you.
About you (The Essentials)
- Senior-level Technical Architect with the ability to design solutions across multiple platforms, not just a single product domain such as Dynamics 365, CE, or integrations.
- Strong Integration Architecture expertise, particularly around Azure integrations and Dynamics 365, as the primary business need for the role.
- Hands-on technical capability, including the ability to write and understand code when required. The successful candidate must be capable of getting involved technically rather than being purely strategic or governance-focused.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills. This was described as a critical requirement. Candidates must be able to lead discussions, engage clients, present confidently, and "carry a room". Poor communicators will not progress beyond initial interviews regardless of technical ability.
- Client-facing consulting experience, including pre-sales, solution design and delivery. The emphasis is on someone who can design real-world solutions, work directly with customers, and help deliver them, rather than a traditional enterprise architect focused mainly on frameworks, governance, or documentation.
- Full driver's licence and access to a vehicle, with flexibility around travel and working hours.
- Curious, looking to challenge the status quo and improve.
- Collaborates well with both internal and external colleagues.
- Committed to personal development and becoming a Trusted Advisor in your field.
