We are looking for a talented Assistant Store Manager to join our Columbia Retail team in York. The role involves supporting store and team success, contributing to profitability and customer satisfaction, and stepping in for the Store Manager when absent.

Responsibilities

  • Provide all customers with excellent service and product advice to elevate the consumer experience, using our Customer Service best practices.
  • Contribute to maximizing store sales and monitor sales progress & results against key targets.
  • Assist in leading and developing the store team, including hiring, training and performance evaluation in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Coaches, motivates and inspires individuals to maximize performance and discuss team progression with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure the store looks great by displaying products in accordance with corporate VM guidelines.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and communication with all levels of management and staff.
  • Ensure company policies & procedures are followed and suggest improvements.

Qualifications

  • Graduated with a high school degree or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year experience in retail or customer services & sales, at a management level.
  • Good knowledge of the country's official language.
  • Professional level of English is required.
  • Enjoy working in a team and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Gifted at coaching, mentoring and training staff.
  • Excellent problem‑solving attitude.
  • Pro at multi‑tasking.
  • Willing to join a high‑performing team that undertakes challenges.
  • Outdoor enthusiast who loves to share passion.
  • Available to work on a flexible schedule, including Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays.

Pay

Expected Pay: £12.71 - £13.71 (gross, full‑time). Newly hired employees are typically employed at the hiring rate for the specific store; previous experience will be considered.
