Main duties of the job
- Telephone, face‑to‑face patient consultation sessions including home visits, making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations.
- Undertaking on‑call duty doctor sessions as distributed fairly between all GPs.
- Prescribe and review medication and treatment within national and practice protocols, referring patients for specialist care as required.
- Processing correspondence, pathology results, and medical reports.
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.

Job responsibilities
- A salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract.
- The post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contribute to effective management of the practice, lead by example, and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Primary key responsibilities
- The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
- The provision of services commensurate with the primary care contract.

Person Specification
- Qualifications: Qualified GP MRCGP Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).

- Good MS Office and clinical system IT knowledge.
