Visiting the hairdressing salon is one of the highlights of our residents’ day. It is an enjoyable social activity that supports residents’ dignity and quality of life. The Hairdresser plays an essential role in maintaining that sense of independence, fulfilment and choice. The Hairdresser must be able to cut, style, colour, set and permanently wave hair to a professional standard. You will also provide clients with hair and scalp treatments. You will also keep the salon, work areas and equipment clean and well presented.

About You
With a relevant hairdressing qualification, you will already have experience of working as a Hairdresser, and an understanding of working with older people and their particular hairdressing needs. Many of our residents enjoy the social aspect of visiting the salon so you must be friendly, kind, sociable and enjoy conversation. Patience and kindness towards our residents living with dementia is essential. You’ll be fully literate in English, an effective communicator and will share our goal of delivering excellence in person-centred care.
