Pay rate: £15.20 per hour
Summary:
- Perform routine maintenance services and minor repairs within care homes
- Conduct monthly tests and inspections on various equipment (fire doors, water temperature outlets, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Report issues or observations to the Facilities Management team
- Perform both planned maintenance tasks and reactive repairs (e.g., checking profile beds, fitting shelves, changing light bulbs)
- Maintain a responsive approach to maintenance requests from the care home

About the Role:
Working across our Salisbury footprint, you will be working in our care home, ensuring facilities are kept safe and reliable for our residents. You will agree priorities with your line manager and carry out monthly tests and inspections on equipment such as fire doors, water temperature outlets, fire extinguishers, security doors, internal and external lighting, wheelchair, window restrictors, reclining chairs and nursing beds.
A central part of the maintenance role is administrative, keeping accurate records via our maintenance software system and reporting issues or observations to the Facilities Management team to ensure the home is safe and meets both Colten Care and Regulatory standards.
In addition to the planned maintenance tasks, you will also provide a wide range and number of reactive repairs and requests including the checking and repair of profile beds, fitting shelves and picture hooks, changing light bulbs, securing door handles or helping to move furniture. You'll have a keen eye for detail, reviewing your reactive requests raised on the maintenance software system for matters requiring attention and providing a responsive approach to the various maintenance needs of the care home.
You’ll be a car driver and own your own car. Essential requirement- Business insurance is essential due to travel during work hours
