We are seeking an experienced GCP Network DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering team. You will play a key role in designing, building, and operating scalable, secure, and resilient cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role sits within a high-performing engineering team delivering strategic enterprise platforms, with a strong focus on networking, automation, and DevOps best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage GCP-based network infrastructure (VPCs, routing, connectivity, security controls)
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, and other modern DevOps platforms
- Implement and support hybrid-cloud connectivity (on-premise to cloud, multi-cloud integrations)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, build, and release cloud-native services
- Troubleshoot and resolve networking and platform-related incidents, driving root cause analysis and improvements
- Review and provide feedback on code (IaC, pipelines, configurations)
- Ensure all solutions meet security, compliance, and governance standards
- Continuously improve platform reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency
- Contribute to cloud roadmap planning and adoption of emerging technologies
Required Skills & Experience
- Core Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially: VPC networking, firewall rules, routing, load balancing
- Identity & Access Management (IAM)
- Compute services (e.g., GCE, GKE)
- Proven experience in DevOps and CI/CD practices
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform preferred)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, hybrid connectivity)
- Experience implementing automated, API-driven infrastructure
- Strong understanding of GitOps and continuous delivery models
- Familiarity with tools such as: HashiCorp Vault (secrets management), Harness (CI/CD platform) (nice to have)
- Experience designing and delivering hybrid or multi-cloud platforms
- Exposure to AWS and/or Azure is beneficial
- Understanding of scalable, resilient system design
- Experience in: Incident management and root cause analysis
- Monitoring and observability tools
- Strong awareness of security and compliance requirements in enterprise environments
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work in agile, cross-functional teams
- Proactive mindset with continuous learning attitude
- Ability to review, guide, and mentor other engineers
