  • We are seeking an experienced

Senior Data Architect / Data Engineering Lead to join a major data transformation programme, supporting the design and delivery of modern cloud-based data platforms.

This role is suited to a senior data professional with strong expertise in

Snowflake, cloud data architecture and enterprise data engineering , who can lead technical delivery while working closely with business and technology stakeholders.

The Role

You will be responsible for shaping and delivering enterprise-scale data solutions, helping organisations unlock value from their data through modern architecture, automation and data engineering practices.

Working across technology, business and reporting functions, you will provide technical leadership across data platform design, engineering delivery and data strategy initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design and delivery of modern enterprise data platforms.
  • Develop scalable data solutions using Snowflake and cloud-native technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership across data engineering teams and transformation programmes.
  • Design and implement robust data ingestion, transformation and modelling solutions.
  • Work with business, finance and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data solutions.
  • Drive adoption of modern data engineering practices, including automation, CI/CD and Dev Ops principles.
  • Support data strategy initiatives and continuous improvement across the data landscape.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You will have

  • Strong experience designing and delivering

Snowflake-based enterprise data platforms .

• Hands-on experience with

  • DBT (Cloud/Core)
  • Data ingestion technologies such as Fivetran, HVR or similar tools
  • Advanced SQL and data modelling
  • Cloud data platforms across AWS or Azure
  • Strong understanding of modern data warehouse architectures, including:
  • Data Vault
  • Kimball methodology
  • Lakehouse architecture
  • Proven experience leading data engineering teams and delivering large-scale transformation programmes.
  • Experience working within Agile and Dev Ops environments, including CI/CD and automation practices.

Experience within

Financial Services or Insurance environments is highly desirable.

Knowledge of financial data domains, including

  • Regulatory reporting
  • Financial data models and reporting structures
