We are seeking an experienced TLM Consultant / Developer with deep expertise in Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) and Reconciliation platforms, specifically SmartStream TLM Premium 2.5 or higher. This role requires a strong technical consultant with extensive hands-on experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting complex reconciliation solutions across Capital Markets environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering enterprise-grade reconciliation controls and automation solutions across multiple business functions and asset classes.

The ideal candidate will possess strong functional and technical knowledge of reconciliation processes including Nostro, Depot, Intercompany, Intersystem, FOBO, FOCL, Cash & Position reconciliations, alongside excellent Oracle SQL and Unix scripting expertise. This is a long-term programme within a high-performing delivery environment supporting strategic reconciliation transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, configure, test, and deploy reconciliation solutions using SmartStream TLM Premium 2.5+
  • Build and support sophisticated reconciliation controls across Capital Markets products and trade lifecycle events
  • Work extensively with: SmartStudio, SmartSchema, Recon Admin, WebConnect, Control & CT tools
  • Configure and support: Cash Reconciliations, Position Reconciliations, FOBO / FOCL reconciliations, Nostro reconciliations, Inter-system and Intercompany reconciliations
  • Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable TLM reconciliation solutions
  • Develop complex SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects within Oracle environments
  • Perform backend analysis of TLM database table linkages for production issue investigation and resolution
  • Automate exception management and break allocation processes within the TLM platform
  • Conduct Unit Testing, SIT, UAT support, and production deployments
  • Support production environments including incident management, root cause analysis, and issue remediation
  • Monitor and troubleshoot TLM services, logs, interfaces, and batch processes
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance, Middle Office, Technology, and Business stakeholders
  • Participate in Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps-driven release cycles
  • Contribute to process improvement and reconciliation optimisation initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong Mandatory Experience In: SmartStream TLM Premium 2.5 or higher, Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) Reconciliation solutions, End-to-end reconciliation build and implementation experience, Capital Markets reconciliation processes and controls, Exception management and reconciliation break automation, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development, Unix / Linux shell scripting, Production support within mission-critical reconciliation environments
Technical Skills Required
  • SmartStream TLM Expertise
  • Strong hands-on experience with: SmartStudio, SmartSchema, Recon Admin, WebConnect, Control & CT tools, TLM services configuration and troubleshooting, TLM database structures and table relationships, Reconciliation workflow configuration, Break management and matching rules, Reconciliation reporting and MI generation
  • Database & SQL: Advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, Stored procedures, Functions and triggers, Query optimisation and performance tuning, Complex joins and analytical SQL queries, Database troubleshooting and profiling, Oracle backup and recovery understanding
  • Unix / Linux: Strong Unix/Linux administration exposure, Shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell), Solaris/Linux environments, Log analysis and troubleshooting, Batch job monitoring, Vi editor proficiency, Server and application support understanding
Business & Functional Experience
  • Strong understanding of: Capital Markets operations, Trade lifecycle management, Front-to-Back reconciliation processes, Cash and Position reconciliation controls, FOBO / FOCL processes, Settlement and accounting controls, Operational risk reduction through reconciliation automation
  • Experience across asset classes including: Equities, Fixed Income, FX, Derivatives, Money Markets
Additional / Preferred Skills
  • Any experience with the following would be advantageous: DevOps tooling (GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines), Jira / Confluence, Reporting tools: BIRT, Crystal Reports, SAP BO, QlikView / QlikSense, Cloud technologies (preferably GCP), Python or Java development, VBScript / Perl / PowerShell scripting
