I’m currently partnering with a leading enterprise organisation looking for an Elastic AIOps / Observability Engineer to support and enhance their distributed monitoring ecosystem. This is a hybrid engineering + development role, ideal for someone passionate about observability, OpenTelemetry, and system reliability at scale.
Role Overview
You’ll play a key role in managing the lifecycle of OpenTelemetry (OTel) agents and collectors, ensuring seamless observability across complex, distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain OTel agents & collectors across Linux and Windows
- Ensure accurate collection and forwarding of metrics, logs, and traces
- Troubleshoot and resolve observability-related issues in line with SLAs
- Perform compatibility analysis and manage version upgrades
- Develop and maintain API integrations with application services
- Automate deployments using Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain clear technical documentation for processes and troubleshooting
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in OpenTelemetry (OTel) – SDKs, APIs, instrumentation
- Hands-on experience with agent & collector lifecycle management
- Solid knowledge of Linux & Windows administration
- Experience with observability tools such as: Jaeger, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK, Loki, SigNoz
- Programming/scripting skills in Python, Go, or Java
- Automation experience with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
Additional Skills
- Kafka, InfluxDB
- Container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3–6 years of experience in observability / monitoring / similar domains
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
