We are supporting a major banking cloud transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Azure infrastructure, Terraform, and CI/CD automation experience who is comfortable working within highly regulated enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain secure Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
  • Support cloud transformation initiatives across Azure-hosted and hybrid enterprise environments
  • Implement automated deployment, testing and release processes
  • Work closely with development, infrastructure and security teams to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency
  • Contribute to monitoring, observability and platform optimisation initiatives
  • Troubleshoot complex cloud and deployment issues across production and non-production environments
  • Ensure solutions align with governance, security and change-control processes
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and documentation

Essential Skills

  • Active SC Clearance
  • Strong Azure cloud engineering experience
  • Proven hands-on Terraform experience within Azure environments
  • Strong experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation
  • Experience working within regulated or controlled enterprise environments
  • Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and DevOps practices
  • Strong PowerShell scripting experience
  • Experience with Windows Server environments
  • Good SQL / SQL Server knowledge
  • Experience with Git-based workflows and source control
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Kubernetes / AKS
  • Experience with Helm, Flux or Packer
  • Azure Monitoring / Azure Monitor experience
  • Experience with security-first engineering practices
  • Experience within banking, financial services or government programmes
  • Exposure to software development using C# or Python
