We are seeking experienced, hands-on Power BI Developers to join a major insurance organisation undergoing a modern data and reporting transformation. This role requires strong end-to-end production reporting experience, with deep expertise in Power Query (M), DAX, data modelling, and report UX/design, alongside practical experience with Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power BI.

The successful candidates will not only deliver high-quality, scalable reporting solutions but will also help drive best practices, maintain strong documentation standards, and support the upskilling of analysts and developers across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver end-to-end Power BI solutions, from data preparation through to production-ready dashboards.
  • Build efficient, scalable semantic models using Power Query (M) and best-practice DAX.
  • Apply strong UX and data visualisation principles to create clear, consistent, and user-friendly reports.
  • Ensure performance optimisation and scalability of Power BI solutions across enterprise environments.
  • Work effectively with Microsoft Fabric components (including Lakehouse, Dataflows, and semantic models) as part of modern data architecture.
  • Produce clear and concise documentation covering datasets, measures, models, and reporting logic.
  • Promote Power BI best practices across modelling, DAX development, and report design standards.
  • Support and coach analysts and developers, providing guidance, quality assurance, and knowledge sharing.
Core Experience (Must-Have)
  • Proven end-to-end Power BI development experience in production environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Power Query (M) for data transformation and shaping.
  • Advanced DAX skills with a focus on clean, maintainable, and optimised solutions.
  • Strong experience in data visualisation and UX-driven report design.
  • Practical understanding of Microsoft Fabric and its integration with Power BI.
  • Strong documentation discipline across datasets, models, and reporting outputs.
  • Experience supporting, coaching, and upskilling Power BI users and developers.
Desirable Experience
  • Insurance, financial services, or other regulated industry experience.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms such as Azure Data Services or similar cloud ecosystems.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments with cross-functional teams.
