We are supporting a major banking cloud transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team delivering secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong Azure infrastructure, Terraform, and CI/CD automation experience who is comfortable working within highly regulated enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain secure Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps
- Support cloud transformation initiatives across Azure-hosted and hybrid enterprise environments
- Implement automated deployment, testing and release processes
- Work closely with development, infrastructure and security teams to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency
- Contribute to monitoring, observability and platform optimisation initiatives
- Troubleshoot complex cloud and deployment issues across production and non-production environments
- Ensure solutions align with governance, security and change-control processes
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and documentation
Essential Skills
- Active SC Clearance
- Strong Azure cloud engineering experience
- Proven hands-on Terraform experience within Azure environments
- Strong experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD automation
- Experience working within regulated or controlled enterprise environments
- Good understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles and DevOps practices
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience
- Experience with Windows Server environments
- Good SQL / SQL Server knowledge
- Experience with Git-based workflows and source control
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Kubernetes / AKS
- Experience with Helm, Flux or Packer
- Azure Monitoring / Azure Monitor experience
- Experience with security-first engineering practices
- Experience within banking, financial services or government programmes
- Exposure to software development using C# or Python
