We are currently seeking an experienced Power BI Architect to join a leading organisation based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled BI professional with strong Power BI, SSRS, SQL Server, and reporting architecture experience to play a key role in delivering business-critical reporting and analytics solutions.

The Role

As a Power BI Architect, you will work closely with senior stakeholders and reporting teams to design, develop, and optimise reporting solutions that support both operational and strategic decision‑making. You will be responsible for building scalable reporting frameworks, enhancing automation, and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and data visualisations.
  • Architect and support SSRS reporting solutions connected to SQL Server databases.
  • Develop scalable reporting frameworks and automated reporting processes.
  • Optimise and enhance existing reporting solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Work with large and complex datasets to provide actionable business insights.
  • Support the migration of existing reporting processes to modernised and automated solutions.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and reporting best practices across all deliverables.
  • Produce technical documentation and maintain reporting standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Architect, BI Architect, or Reporting Solutions Architect.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI, including: DAX, Power Query, Power BI Report Server, Dashboard and report development.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server and advanced SQL development.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise reporting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and data integration.
  • Experience working with complex datasets and data modelling techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Experience with additional BI and analytics technologies.
  • Background within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or other regulated environments.
