Why we need this role

The primary purpose of this role is be a Security Architect with the “Security and Resilience - Security Architecture”, team, in order to be eligible of this role, you will be capable of acting as subject matter expert on security framework architecture and standards for network, platforms and security components.

The role will have close interaction with the Security Engineering, SOC, Threat intelligence team and Risk functions within the wider department and will participate in researching emerging technologies, products, services and architectures, to work with the various Colt technology groups (DIO, Network Engineering, Service Delivery ) in producing, delivering and validating the Colt wide end-to-end architecture.

The role is a combination of internal activities and accountabilities (defining the target architecture for your domain, initiating and/or leading important transformations and new wide-scale deployments, supporting the design and engineering teams) as well as external activities (working with key vendors and start-ups, engaging with customers and the sales organisation and participating to industry forums and events).

What you will do

  • Design, deliver and maintain the end-to-end target architecture for the security domain
  • Work with your architecture, design and engineering peers to align the architecture to the Colt technology landscape
  • Design and consult on security elements for new product and technology introductions and support compliance/security enforcement projects
  • Ensure Colt networks are compliant with relevant regulations, standards and frameworks such as TSA, DORA, ISO27001 and more
  • Technology watching and ability to translate research into actionable data and present up to management (research memos, strategy papers, etc)
  • Work with the Colt Business Units on strategic initiatives and support key transformational or wide-scale projects
  • Support the product portfolio and product engineering teams on products and services strategy and developments
  • Participate to and represent Colt at industry bodies
  • Conduct capability mapping exercises
  • Ensure all new implmentations/change across the entire Colt landscape are following “Secure by Design” approach
  • Assist with development, planning and delivery of “Hackathons” and other employee security awareness initiatives such as “Security Awareness week”

What we're looking for

Must haves

  • 3 years+ technical knowledge and practical experience in information security in a large-scale enterprise or telecommunications industry environments.
  • 5 years experience and advanced understanding of information security concepts related to private and public cloud providers and services, and key cloud design concepts such as Iaa S, Paa S, Saa S and their differences as well as M365 security with specific coverage of E5 security capabilities.
  • Able to translate the technical security jargon into clearly understood business language.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments in accordance with a recognized risk assessment/management methodology.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent (networking, computing/computer science, etc). Pure work experience also accepted.
  • Good understanding or above of software-defined concepts and technologies (SDN) as well as NFV concepts and technologies.
  • Understanding of network technologies (Role of Switches/Routers in network, TCP/IP IP stack, Knowledge of protocols such as HTTPS, SNMP, NTP, Telnet, SSH) as well as security enabling technologies (Firewalls, IDS/IPS, content filtering platforms, proxies, DMZ, anti-malware, anti-spam, anti-ransomware, anti-DDOS, NAC and MDM technologies)
  • Entry level experience of UNIX and/ or MS Windows including Active Directory.
  • Strong team player able to lead small teams of senior architects/engineers, drive projects and activities.
  • Good presenting and inter-personal skills (C-level, customer meetings, vendor management, speaking at conferences, publishing thought leadership, active participation to SDOs and other industry forums)
  • Good combination of creative and analytical skills, able to deliver complex documents and "connect the dots".

Might haves

  • Experience in AI (LLM) security, guardails, DLP, understanding of risk such as Prompt Injection and Model Poisioning etc.
  • Good understanding of Telecoms Security Act requirements, contained with the Code of Practise.
