The primary purpose of the CMCO team is to build a reputation that helps us win in the market which will translate to growth and support Colt’s strategic priorities. The communication specialist plays a role in supporting the Head of Executive comms in developing communications, creating content that helps Colt achieve its goals while promoting a positive public image and controlling the dissemination of information on the company's behalf.

The specialist role will create and curate messages and stories that support Colt’s executive teams to build their profiles to amplify Colt’s values and key priorities across various stakeholders and influencers. They will be part of ensuring that the profiles are clear and focused and drive clear messages for Colt. They must understand and drive the connection between their work, how it influences perception and builds trust and relationships that will help drive our business into new spaces.

What You Will Do

  • Research key technology topics to create collateral for ELT – whitepapers etc.
  • Creation of assets to assist key ELT members during external engagements – briefing documents, panel notes etc.
  • Raise the profile of our ELT to amplify Colt’s winning reputation.
  • Build expertise around market and customer topics, including an understanding of how these topics are communicated effectively across our and other industries.
  • Create communications that drive specific behavioural and attitudinal change.
  • Create strong networks around the business, ensuring they know what’s going on, what needs to be communicated and what people need / want to hear.
  • Analyse feedback and use to drive improvements in content, channels and processes.
  • Work with Colt’s Brand and Digital, Events, Business Partner Marketing and PR teams to promote and distribute content.
  • Work closely with the wider team to understand marketing plans thoroughly, key focus areas etc. and how communication and content align.
  • Ensure communication is aligned with wider corporate communications programmes and with the company brand, purpose and tone of voice and content is effectively proofed to minimise review times.
