Colt provides network, voice and data centre services to thousands of businesses around the world, allowing them to focus on delivering their business goals instead of the underlying infrastructure.

As we align our organisation to our ambitious new strategy, we’re delivering complex, people led change across geographies, cultures, and functions, which require thoughtful, credible, human centred communication. That’s why we need a People Change Communications lead - someone who can help employees understand not just what’s changing, but why it matters, how it affects them, and what support is available. This role brings clarity, consistency, and empathy to times of change, while balancing employee needs with the strategic priorities of the business.

Reporting into the Head of Internal Communications, the role will lead people‑change communications centrally and work closely with organisational change, people & culture, senior leaders, country managers, and the wider internal communications team. The successful candidate will enable effective delivery of people change communications across the organisation by setting clear strategy, narratives, and guidance, and by working closely with country managers and internal communications specialists to land change within functions and regions.

What you will do:

  • Own the Colt-wide people change communications strategy for major organisational change initiatives.
  • Develop clear, compelling central narratives and messaging frameworks that explain the why, what, and what it means for me for employees at all levels.
  • Ensure communications are aligned with change management plans and reinforce desired behaviours and outcomes.
  • Enable functional and local delivery through wider internal communications team and country leads.
  • Provide clear guidance, toolkits, core content, FAQs and strategic direction to enable internal comms specialists to tailor and deliver communications for functional-specific change as needed.
  • Act as a communications partner to the organisational change director.
  • Work closely with the head of internal communications to align people change communications with the overall internal communications strategy.
  • Collaborate across a global, matrixed organisation to ensure consistency while allowing for local nuance and functional relevance.
  • Ensure communications are written in our tone of voice, are inclusive, empathetic, and accessible.
  • Anticipate employee concerns, risks, and resistance, addressing them proactively through communication.
  • Measure the effectiveness of change communications and continuously refine approach based on insight and feedback.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience in internal communications, with deep expertise in change communications, particularly people-related and organisational change.
  • Experience working in large, global, matrixed organisations.
  • Strong understanding of change management principles and how communications drive adoption.
  • Strategic and commercial mindset.
  • Ability to balance employee needs and experience with business priorities and outcomes.
  • Comfortable working with complexity, ambiguity, and competing stakeholder demands.
  • Sound judgement in sensitive, high-impact change situations.
  • Senior stakeholder confidence and experience working with C-suite as a trusted communications advisor.
  • Strong influencing skills across functions and levels, without reliance on formal authority.
  • High cultural awareness and experience adapting communications for diverse global audiences.
  • Strong empathy and ability to anticipate employee reactions to change.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across a matrix.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Calm, credible, and thoughtful presence during periods of change.
