Why we need this role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a junior lawyer to join our high performing Commercial Legal Team based in the UK. Reporting to a senior commercial lawyer, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing high quality legal support on commercial matters arising in Colt’s Northern Region which includes the UK, Ireland, and Nordics with a focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements with customers and suppliers.
What you will do
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with customers and vendors, including NDAs, DPAs, service agreements and MSAs, frameworks and variations.
- Provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders across sales, procurement and operations, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
- Support contract lifecycle management: issue spotting, risk assessment, playbook application and resolution of contractual queries and disputes.
- Contribute to improving templates, playbooks and legal processes; help embed best practice and consistency.
- Track legal/regulatory developments affecting technology and telecommunications and share updates with business.
- Collaborate across jurisdictions and cross‑functional teams to support commercial transactions.
What we look for
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales or equivalent common‑law) with 1–2 years’ PQE.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills for commercial agreements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confident engaging with non‑legal stakeholders.
- Pragmatic, organized, and proactive with attention to detail.
- Comfortable owning matters and meeting deadlines.
- Curiosity and ambition with interest in developing a long‑term in‑house career within the technology/ telecommunications sector.
