We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Master Data Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the management and governance of financial master data across the organization. This role will require a strategic thinker who can collaborate with various departments to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Master Data Governance: Develop and implement a robust enterprise-wide data governance framework that ensures data accuracy and integrity across all financial systems and processes.
- Data Quality Management: Monitor and assess the quality of financial master data, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions to maintain high data quality standards. Proactively reduce master data defects through improved standards, validation processes, and cross-functional controls.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with finance, procurement, sales operations and other relevant departments to identify data requirements, resolve data issues, and ensure alignment on data management strategies. Evaluate feedback from the business to ensure the business works effectively towards a gold standard of compliance without hindering operations.
- Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of financial master data, including creation, modification, and deletion processes, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations. Maintain audit compliance and work with stakeholders to understand the common goal of strong data integrity.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to finance, procurement, sales operations and other relevant teams on master data management best practices and tools, fostering a culture of data stewardship.
- Change Management: Manage change initiatives related to master data management, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to business operations.
- Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to monitor data quality and compliance metrics, presenting findings to senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in master data management and finance, recommending improvements to current processes and systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field; master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CIMA, CPA, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in finance data management, master data management, or a related field, with a deep understanding of financial processes and systems.
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience with MDM tools and technologies is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with stakeholders at all levels.
- Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to financial data management.
