Role Overview: As financial analyst for Germany and the Netherlands, you will be responsible for providing analysis and reporting support for the DE/NL finance manager. This will be across the full suite of financial services including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, business partnering and statutory compliance activities in accordance with local country GAAP and other relevant regulations. As a result this role provides an excellent introduction for a newly or part qualified accountant to gain varied commercial experience within a multiple £000m data centre business operating in a rapidly evolving industry. All of this means you'll have a real opportunity to make a meaningful contribution, seeing how your work has impact, whilst developing your own skills in a business facing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review the financial results for 3 stabilised sites and manage the production of the P&L and cash flow forecast processes.
- Provide reporting commentary on the P&L, cash flow and capex forecasts for the monthly European financial reviews.
- Assume main point of contact for external tax advisors and input into DE/NL tax and treasury matters.
- Provide ad hoc analytical support to the DE/NL finance manager on all ongoing DE/NL financial matters including construction projects, principally the Frankfurt 3-5 and Berlin 1-2 Data Centre developments.
- Work with Sales, Real Estate and Operations teams to track and improve DE/NL site financial performance.
- Monitor maintenance and success driven CapEx spend.
- Monitor DE/NL site performance ensuring the Region is on track to hit its P&L financial targets.
- Assist in tracking financial efficiencies, revenue opportunities and cost savings.
- Liaise with Colt Core Germany to receive and action correspondence.
- Ensure processes, controls and policies are followed and feed into improvements.
- Assist with preparation of quarterly statements in line with reporting requirements for a loan held by Wilhelm Fay Ltd.
- Assist with accounts preparation and audits for the main DE/NL operating and head office companies.
Role Specific Requirements:
- Newly or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with an interest in a commercially focused finance role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS requirements to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- At least C1 language level in both German and English.
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to interact and influence both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing tasks effectively and determination to hit key deadlines.
- Good analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Competent Excel skills with good working knowledge of how to interrogate financial systems and key source reports.
