Reporting to the Business Applications Manager, an IT Application Specialist is responsible for the provision of technical support, deployment and design for a number of business critical applications.

What you will do

  • You will provide a combination of 2nd and 3rd line support and be the technical subject matter expertise for a portfolio of business systems.
  • In the event of application issues, you will work with Incident Management Teams to restore service quickly and efficiently and, where required, Problem and Change Management Teams to complete any follow up actions.
  • Plan and execute changes in accordance with policies and processes.
  • Delivery of 2nd/3rd line operational support for IT services.
  • Documenting procedures, processes and high and low level designs.
  • You will support Service Delivery Managers with Application Changes by providing technical expertise at CAB Meetings and, where required, the technical resources to implement changes.
  • You will work with the Business Applications and Infrastructure Teams to maintain a pipeline of platform maintenance and enhancement activities.
  • Research and keep up-to-date with current and emerging technologies.
  • Technical resource and, where required, technical lead for projects and BAU activities ensuring delivery within agreed scope and timeframe.
  • Work collaboratively with the IT team, colleagues and suppliers to deliver technical solutions per business requirements.
  • This role also forms part of a design authority group on a project, which strives to maintain start to finish integrity of the solution.

What we're looking for Skills and Experience

  • Experience managing/supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 applications with Finance & Operations being desirable.
  • ETL/Data Transformation solutions (e.g. SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
  • Scripting and automation (Powershell, vbscript, python, etc…)
  • Experience of managing a Microsoft 365 tenant, including Sharepoint Online, Teams, Power Platform (Desirable)
  • Experience of managing an Azure or other cloud environment.
  • Strong awareness of IT security best practices.
  • Would suit someone with 3-4 years experience in a similar role looking for their next progressive step.

Working Conditions
