Full time β 37.5 hours a week worked over 4 days, Monday to Thursday, 0700 to 1630 except Thursdays finishing at 1600 Focused on recyclable and compostable products, we design and manufacture award-winning, sustainable food packaging solutions exported to over 60 countries worldwide. Based in the UK, our creativity and innovation takes inspiration from our markets around the globe. As our Engineer, you will: * Provide fast and efficient installation, diagnostics, repairs and preventive maintenance to all the machinery, plant and equipment within the factory, keeping the Senior Works Engineer fully informed and up-to-date; * Carry out basic electrical fault diagnosis and repairs; * Work with the Senior Works Engineer to facilitate large or major repairs to plant and equipment; * Assist in the development and implementation of a planned maintenance programme in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer; * Demonstrate the effectiveness of planned maintenance through reducing numbers of breakdowns and problem-free equipment installations; * Purchase sundries, machine parts and services, in liaison with the Senior Works Engineer, with due regard for stock levels and overall budget; * Arrange, assist and direct external contractors for specialist work or installations in consultation with the Senior Works Engineer and Technical Director; * Participate in the technical aspects of capital investment decisions; * Advise senior management on Health and Safety issues or concerns. If you have the following skills and attributes, then we want to hear from you. * Recent, relevant and proven experience as a maintenance engineer or similar role. * Higher level qualification in engineering or manufacturing. * Solid understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanics. * Familiarity using various power and hand tools. * Ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy loads. * Problem-solving and organisational skills β a self-starter who is well organised, positive, flexible and highly motivated to get the job done efficiently and safely using own initiative, and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and ability to work some overtime. * Confident in communicating verbally and in writing in English
