As a Microbiological Technologist you will be report to the Team Manager of the relevant unit and be responsible for performing a wide range of biologically related activities.

In this role you will…

  • Perform a range of microbiological techniques related to the analysis of intermediates, finished products, and environmental monitoring.
  • Manage, be multi skilled and demonstrate a level of specialism in a minimum of one of the disciplines listed below, employing high standards of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Create documentation, develop methods for new or modified existing techniques, prepare procedures, protocols, and reports to agreed targets.
  • Support investigations/projects within their specialism.
  • Train junior staff in aspects of their work as specified by the Team Manager.
  • Participate/represent the department on site projects.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs.
  • Demonstrate practical knowledge in at least one area of Pharmaceutical Microbiology i.e., Environmental Monitoring, Finished Product Testing (Endotoxin, Sterility or Microbial Limit testing), In process control sample analysis, Biological Indicators, Bacteriology, Microbial Identification.
  • Effective organisation, communication, presentation and influencing skills.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • A Level in Science.
  • Understanding of GSK Quality Management Systems and relevant legislation.
