Delivery Driver – Non-CDL – Atlantic Tire Distributors
Atlantic Tire Distributors, located in Norfolk, VA is currently seeking a Delivery Driver to join our team! We have warehouses that operate in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee and are growing, so come join our team for an awesome career opportunity. Summary:
Drive a light vehicle, such as a truck, with a capacity of less than 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), primarily to deliver or pick up tires. May load and unload vehicles; as well as other duties assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
- Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, or brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
- Report on any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles.
- Properly document goods delivered or loaded.
- Load and unload trucks
- Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers.
- Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements, in accordance with regulations.
- Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Safe Vehicle Operation: Operate and maneuver company vehicles such as box trucks and delivery vans, following all traffic and safety regulations.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, secure, and move products safely using hands, arms, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
- Warehouse Operations Knowledge: Understand basic warehouse processes including receiving, picking, staging, and inventory handling.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally and courteously with customers during deliveries and pickups.
- Physical Stamina and Strength: Perform tasks requiring physical endurance, including lifting, carrying, walking, stooping, and balancing while handling materials.
- Communication: Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and customers via phone, text, email, and in person.
- Equipment Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and identify equipment issues to maintain safety and compliance.
- Time Management: Plan routes efficiently and manage delivery schedules to meet deadlines and meet customer expectations.
- Problem Solving: Apply practical thinking to address delivery challenges, unexpected delays, or customer concerns.
- Attention to Safety: Adhere to safety protocols for vehicle operation, warehouse tasks, and material handling.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The truck may or may not be air conditioned/heated seasonally. The employee must regularly lift up to 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific visions abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency, a minimum of one-year commercial driver experience required.
