Colonna’s Shipyard is seeking an Accounts Payable / Data Integrator Clerk in Norfolk, VA. The Accounts Payable (AP Clerk) / Data Integrator Clerk is responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. Responsibilities include processing and monitoring payments and expenditure and will perform the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that the Company’s finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Invoice Processing & Data Entry: Group, verify, and accurately enter a high volume of invoices into the Deltek CostPoint system; match invoices with receipts from receiving departments.
  • Communication & Coordination: Address vendor inquiries regarding payment status, rates, and procedures; resolve discrepancies and reconcile supplier statements.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general clerical duties (filing, photocopying, faxing, mailing); create and maintain office documents and files; answer mail and phone inquiries.
  • Record-Keeping & Filing: Organize and maintain electronic and physical filing systems for all AP documents, including invoices, checks, and sub-labor timecards.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain a safe and secure work environment; ensure reliable attendance and the ability to work independently with attention to detail.
  • Clerical Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of clerical procedures and proficiency in high-volume data entry.
  • Data Integration: Responsible for moving the temps from F2P into the A/P preprocessor for uploading to Deltek CostPoint.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a HS Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable and/or general Accounting.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Personal Computers (PCs) and word processing and data entry software, with a strong focus on Excel.
  • Must have outstanding organizational skills (time management, follow up and multi-tasking).
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to compile and analyze data plus pull reports from various systems with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must have general knowledge of accounting principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Deltek Costpoint is preferred but not required.

Travel Requirements: Minimal Travel; 10% or less.

Physical Requirements: Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. Able to sit and work on a computer for long periods of time. Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Communicating with others to exchange information. Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $26.00

Determination of base salary considers various factors, including but not limited to scope of responsibility, candidate’s relative and specific experience, education level, key skills, as well as other business considerations.
