As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences. Working under the guidance of teaching staff and school leaders, you will supervise classes, support student engagement and maintain a positive learning environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
- Delivering pre-planned learning activities and ensuring students remain on task.
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations.
- Supporting individual students and small groups to access learning effectively.
- Assisting with the organisation of daily cover arrangements alongside the Cover Officer.
- Providing administrative support to teaching staff where required.
- Supporting students during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits and enrichment activities. Has experience working with or supporting young people.
- Can confidently lead a classroom and maintain positive learning environments.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is organised, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Demonstrates resilience, professionalism and a calm approach to challenges.
- Shares our commitment to high expectations and empowering every student to achieve their potential.
- Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the wider life of the school.
