Learning Support Assistant – South Birmingham Start Date: September 2025 Location: South Birmingham Are you passionate about supporting children\’s learning and development? The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access the curriculum and reach their full potential. You will work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO, contributing to educational and behavioural plans, and ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need. Responsibilities * Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language needs * Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) * Support students\’ emotional, social, and academic development * Monitor progress and report back to teaching staff and parents where appropriate * Foster a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment * Assist with classroom organisation and general teaching duties when required Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria: * A minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children in a UK educational setting (school, nursery, or similar) * Experience supporting children with SEN * A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one through us) * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting learners * A genuine passion for working with children and helping them thrive Why Register with Us?
