We are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming mainstream secondary school seeking a reliable and proactive Food Technician to support their thriving Food Technology department from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a creative, student-focused environment, playing a key role in helping pupils gain vital life skills through food preparation and nutrition.

  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Contract: Full-Time (term-time only), temporary
  • Location: Dudley
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience and school scale

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients and equipment for practical food lessons
  • Set up and clear down the classroom/kitchen space for each session
  • Ensure a clean, safe and hygienic working environment at all times
  • Manage stock levels, monitor supplies, and place orders as needed
  • Liaise closely with the classroom teacher to ensure smooth lesson delivery
  • Support students during practicals where appropriate, maintaining health and safety

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has experience working in a kitchen, school, or food preparation environment
  • Is highly organised, with excellent attention to detail
  • Understands the importance of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Is confident working independently and as part of a team
  • Is friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with staff and students

A food hygiene qualification is desirable but not essential.
