SEN Teaching Assistant β SEMH (Long-Term Role)
Location: Dudley
Contract: Long-term / Full-time
Start Date: ASAP (or January start)
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a long-term basis within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) provision in the Dudley area. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs and challenging behaviours, and who can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
The Role:
- Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
- Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans
- Promoting emotional regulation, engagement, and positive outcomes
- Providing consistent, long-term support to pupils who benefit from routine and structure
The Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with SEN, particularly SEMH (school or alternative provision experience desirable)
- Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient
- Able to work as part of a supportive staff team
- Committed to a long-term role and making a real impact
