About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team working within SEN schools across South Birmingham. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, tailored to their individual learning needs
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies
  • Foster a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care where required
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and social development

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN (preferred but not essential)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) are desirable
