SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Secondary School
Location: South Birmingham
Salary: £100-£110/day dependent on experience
Contract Type: Full-time / Term-time only

About the Role
Colmore Education is working in partnership with a well-established mainstream secondary school to recruit an experienced and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Please note: Previous experience supporting students in a mainstream secondary school is essential for this role. Applications without this experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEN needs (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties)
- Support students in accessing the secondary curriculum across a range of subjects
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
- Implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and support students with emotional regulation
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
Requirements
- Essential: Proven experience working within a mainstream secondary school setting
- Experience supporting young people with SEN
- Strong behaviour management skills and resilience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable
