About the Role
We are currently recruiting reliable and detail-oriented Exam Scribes to support students in secondary schools across the West Midlands during exam periods. This role is vital in ensuring students with additional needs are able to access examinations fairly and in line with access arrangements.
As an Exam Scribe, you will work on a one-to-one basis with students, writing or typing their dictated answers during assessments while maintaining strict exam regulations and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a scribe for students entitled to access arrangements during exams
- Accurately record students’ dictated responses without prompting or altering content
- Follow instructions provided by the exams officer and adhere to JCQ regulations
- Support students in a calm, professional, and reassuring manner
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity at all times
- Assist with setting up and supervising exam environments where required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Excellent listening and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to remain neutral and not influence students’ answers
- A calm, patient, and professional manner
