Purpose of the job
You’ll be at the forefront of designing and delivering cutting-edge solutions for some of our biggest clients. This isn’t just about advising from the side-lines, instead, you’ll be deeply involved in shaping technical strategy, personally developing new integrations, and driving innovation in partnership with industry leaders. This is a hands-on, client-facing role, blending technical excellence with business impact. You’ll work closely with clients to understand their challenges, craft scalable architectures, and build proof-of-concepts that push the boundaries of what’s possible. With a significant pre-sales element, you’ll also play a key role in demonstrating how our technology can transform their business. Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Solution Design - Work closely with clients to understand business requirements, define architectural solutions, and provide technical guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Pre-Sales & Technical Consultation - Support the sales process by advising on solution feasibility, designing technical approaches, and assisting with RFPs and proposals.
- Proof-of-Concepts & Prototyping - Develop POCs and prototypes to validate technical approaches, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices.
- Hands-On Engineering & Integration - Build and implement custom integrations, APIs, and technical solutions, ensuring seamless interoperability between platforms and third-party services.
- Technical Leadership & Best Practices - Maintain a high standard of software architecture, coding, and performance optimisation, working closely with our central Software Engineering department.
- Stakeholder Communication - Bridge the gap between technical teams, business leaders, and clients, translating business needs into robust technical solutions.
- E-Commerce Specialisation - Provide deep technical expertise in e-commerce platforms, integrations, and modern payment solutions, ensuring client solutions are highly optimised and future-proof.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
- Our Tech Stack: Typescript (Node.js and React), AWS, Kubernetes, DataDog, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Kafka.
- Strong background in software engineering (at least to Senior Engineer level), cloud architectures, and API design, with experience in building scalable systems.
- Experience leading a software engineering team or initiative that collaborated closely with a customer or client.
- Proven ability to work with clients to define technical solutions, support RFPs, and contribute to the sales cycle.
- Comfortable writing production-grade code, developing integrations, and working on complex technical challenges.
- Deep understanding of CRMs (such as Salesforce), other e-commerce platforms, payments, order management, and customer experience optimisation.
- Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing clear explanations and recommendations.
- Experience in quickly building proof-of-concepts to validate technical feasibility and demonstrate value to clients.
