The Opportunity
This Non‑Executive Director role is a strategically important appointment at a moment of meaningful transition and growth for Collinson. You will play a key part in shaping the future direction of a global, family‑owned group as it sharpens its role as an active parent and explores long‑term capital partnerships to unlock its next wave of potential.
We are looking for an accomplished Non‑Executive Director who brings sound judgement, integrity and a global outlook to support a family‑owned organisation operating at scale. In this role, you will help balance entrepreneurial ambition with thoughtful governance and long‑term stewardship – combining analytical rigour with empathy to support Collinson’s next phase of disciplined, purpose‑led growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Provide clear, constructive challenge and strategic counsel as the Group evolves its structure, capital model and long‑term growth plans.
- Offer external perspective on opportunities across travel, loyalty, technology, financial services and related customer experience ecosystems.
- Help refine, prioritise and stress‑test portfolio strategy, including the role, ambition and value‑creation approach of the parent company.
- Governance and Oversight
- Serve as a member of the Risk and Audit Committee, supporting strong governance, financial integrity and a forward‑looking approach to risk and compliance.
- Support the design and enhancement of group‑wide oversight structures, including technology risk, regulatory environments and global operational complexity.
- Help ensure clarity of decision rights, accountability and boundaries as the Group further matures its parent operating model.
- Capital and Growth Expertise
- Guide the Board through considerations relating to long‑horizon capital partnerships, refinancing options, co‑investment models and other forms of patient capital.
- Bring experience navigating capital transitions in organisations at scale, from growth acceleration to partnering with institutional, private or family capital.
- Provide insight on building sustainable value and resilience across multi‑market, multi‑business groups.
- Global and Cultural Stewardship
- Bring a global mindset to Board discussions, with an appreciation for cross‑border dynamics, regulatory diversity and local‑market nuance.
- Act as a cultural complement to the executive team and family shareholders, role‑modeling values‑led leadership, openness and pragmatic decision‑making.
- Support the evolution of a high‑performing Board culture that combines entrepreneurial energy with the maturity and discipline expected of a global organisation.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking someone who can bring a blend of experience, credibility and values that aligns with Collinson’s ambitions and culture.
- Board Experience
- Prior Non‑Executive Board experience within international organisations.
- Background in one or more of the following areas is advantageous: travel, hospitality, payments, loyalty, technology, financial services or customer‑experience‑led businesses.
- Capital Strategy Insight
- Demonstrated experience guiding organisations through long‑term capital transitions (for example, private capital, family office partnerships, refinancing, co‑investment or listed environments).
- Understanding of how to shape and steward capital strategy within a family‑owned context.
- Growth and Portfolio Expertise
- Experience growing businesses through organic expansion, strategic partnerships, platform or ecosystem development and M&A.
- Comfort operating in B2B2C models and indirect distribution environments, with an understanding of how to create value for partners and end customers.
- Governance and Risk
- Strong governance credentials, ideally including professional qualifications or material experience in audit, financial oversight, regulatory matters or enterprise risk.
- Ability to apply governance with judgement – balancing appropriate control with agility, innovation and speed of execution.
- Global and Cultural Sensitivity
- Successful track record operating in global businesses with cross‑border exposure and diverse stakeholder groups.
- Cultural alignment with a values‑led, second‑generation family organisation that combines ambition with care, accountability and long‑term thinking.
Personal Attributes
- Commercial, thoughtful and pragmatic, with a values‑driven approach to decision‑making.
- A supportive challenger who brings sound judgement, emotional intelligence and the confidence to ask the difficult questions in a constructive way.
