We are seeking an experienced Compliance Auditor / Compliance Monitoring Officer to join the Compliance team within our Insurance Division. This role offers the opportunity to deliver a risk‑based compliance monitoring programme across internal operations and external insurance distribution partners, covering Multi‑lines, Travel, and Accident & Health business lines. Reporting to the Compliance Officer, you will independently manage audits from planning through to reporting and action closure, providing assurance to the business, identifying regulatory risks, and supporting regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The role is primarily office‑based with remote auditing and occasional UK and European travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 2nd line risk‑based compliance audits and monitoring reviews
  • Define audit scopes aligned to FCA requirements and business risks
  • Conduct fieldwork including evidence reviews, interviews, walkthroughs, and control testing
  • Produce clear audit reports with practical recommendations
  • Identify root causes and support remediation activity
  • Track and validate completion of audit actions
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Support thematic reviews and regulatory readiness activity
  • Maintain accurate audit documentation and records
  • Keep up to date with regulatory developments and industry expectations

About You

  • You will have experience in Compliance Assurance, Compliance Monitoring, or Compliance Audit within financial services, ideally insurance distribution.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a 2nd line compliance monitoring/audit role
  • Strong FCA regulatory knowledge including PRIN, SYSC, ICOBS, and DISP
  • Experience auditing third parties, intermediaries, or outsourced providers
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and report‑writing skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple audits independently
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, and independence
  • Good Microsoft Office and audit/compliance systems knowledge
  • ICA, CII, or other compliance qualifications
  • Exposure to MFSA or wider European regulatory frameworks
