The role:

Carrying out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance in a high-end residential (Build-to-Rent) development in Leeds. This will include work within apartments, the building and resident common areas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Preparing vacant apartments for new residents and completing pre-tenancy works
  • Working to deadlines to minimise void periods
  • Completing basic plumbing, repairs, painting, decorating, and general maintenance works
  • Repairing and replacing woodwork, doors, locks, fixtures, and fittings
  • Investigating and resolving maintenance issues such as leaks and minor electrical faults
  • Assisting with furniture moves and basic furniture repairs
  • Working independently and managing daily tasks effectively
  • Attending scheduled jobs and providing updates to the line manager
  • Maintaining accurate records of completed works
  • Carrying out routine checks including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and water temperatures
  • Managing stock levels and reporting requirements
  • Liaising professionally with residents during maintenance visits

The Person:

  • Prior experience working in a handyman or maintenance role, ideally in a residential or hotel setting
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication and customer serviced skills
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
