Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager GT in the United Kingdom (UK), the GT Specialist is responsible for a variety of activities relating to GT compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Support J/C classifications for all imported and exported items and technical data.
  • Manage transactions in SAP/GTS, release blocked orders, undertake licence and end user checks in a timely manner.
  • Review technology transfer requests in a timely manner and provide guidance on marking and transmission methods as needed.
  • Review travel requests in a timely manner and provide guidance as needed.
  • Review transactions of miscellaneous items for export or transfer (DWOR) in a timely manner.
  • Manage the full authorisation lifecycle for UK authorisations and maintain required supporting documentation or information.
  • Manage the full authorisation lifecycle for United States (US) authorisations and maintain required supporting documentation or information.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external bodies to resolve global trade compliance matters.
  • Conduct screening, due diligence, and sanctions requests.
  • Review screening, due diligence, and sanctions requests and provide guidance as needed.
  • Provide guidance on employment management (BPSS) and third‑party management (visitors, contractors) as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relevant standard work, tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and provide relevant training.
  • Support internal metrics reporting.
  • Ensure that accurate and auditable records are maintained and that all reporting requirements are achieved in a timely manner.
  • Support the identification, investigation, and disclosure of potential violations as required.
  • Perform root cause analysis and ensure that identified containment and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Support internal and external audits or visits as needed.
  • Support any other GT duties or tasks assigned from time to time.
  • Act as a delegate or deputy as assigned from time to time.
  • Ensure compliance with present export and import laws and regulations as well as internal requirements.
  • Comply with internal departments' requirements (EH&S, E&C, CORE, etc.).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills (e.g., SAP, MS Office).
  • Previous GT compliance experience focused on export licensing, and good working knowledge of applicable export laws and regulations (including US) are essential.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience within the Aerospace and Defence sectors is desirable.

Security Clearance

This position may involve access to export‑controlled information and hardware. Employment is subject to satisfactory security checks, export licence approval, and, where required, completion of a non‑disclosure agreement in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: Employees who are working in hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. The ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
