We are looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Galleys team in Leighton Buzzard to be responsible for research and development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. The Galleys Program designs and produces world‑class galley structures for aircraft.
What You Will Do
- Work autonomously with limited oversight from the line manager.
- Coach, review, and support work from a cross‑functional team of professionals.
- Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost‑effective and efficient means.
- Analyse and evaluate new or improved electronic components.
- Act as technical interface for all internal and external stakeholders, developing customer relationships based on transparency and trust.
- Author, check, and approve technical documentation in accordance with delegation of authority.
- Monitor, report, and act upon key performance and leading indicators to help achieve predictable outcomes.
Experience & Qualifications We Prefer
- ‘Leader’ mentality, keen to drive improvements and provide input.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role; electrical engineering/manufacturing experience is essential.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is highly desirable.
- Familiar with wiring diagrams, wiring lists, CAD (Catia, NX preferred) and PLM systems (Teamcentre preferred).
- Experience ideally includes power generation, transmission and distribution, illumination, wire communication systems, circuit theory, computer design and development.
- Electrical certifications knowledge – DO‑160, DO‑178 & DO‑254 is highly desirable.
- Excellent communicator, able to achieve outcomes through dialogue with a range of stakeholders (local and global colleagues, executives, customers, technical and non‑technical).
- STEM degree is highly desirable.
