This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in a high-growth boutique advisory firm. Working directly with our Head of Product and Projects, you will help build the core intellectual property, training, and strategic tools that power our consulting team. If you are a driven, high‑calibre professional with a sharp eye for design, impeccable writing skills, and a desire to learn how businesses scale and sell, this role offers a great opportunity to grow your experience in a boutique professional services environment.
We are an advisory firm purpose‑built to guide information, media, and events businesses from scale‑up to sale or investment. Our focus is on value creation for our clients, and to do that effectively, our internal tools, intellectual property (IP), and training need to be best‑in‑class. We are looking for a proactive, highly organised professional to join our team to help drive our product roadmap: the building of proprietary frameworks, diagnostic tools, and methodology playbooks underpin all our work, as well as the training and special projects that facilitate exemplary client delivery from our Advisers.
In this role, you will provide the vital content and project management support required to deliver our product roadmap. Your work will ensure that every piece of intellectual property and training material we produce is visually compelling, logically sound, and distinctly Collingwood. Specifically, you will drive impact by:
- Elevating our intellectual property: By creating proprietary tools, templates, and high‑quality presentations, you will directly shape the assets our advisers use to deliver exceptional work.
- Protecting our professional standards: You will act as the guardian of the Collingwood style: copy‑editing, formatting, and finessing outputs to ensure everything leaving the team is professional and on‑brand.
- Empowering the advisory team: By creating engaging training materials – from videos to interactive decks – and organising enablement sessions, you will upskill our consultants and ensure they are fully equipped to succeed.
- Driving operational excellence: By managing our product roadmap and taking ownership of key systems like Method Grid and SharePoint, you will keep our internal operations running smoothly and on schedule.
- Delivering strategic projects: You will provide vital project management support on high‑priority company initiatives, working directly alongside leadership, including our Chief Customer Officer.
You might be early in your career with a strong internship or placement record, or you might have up to four years of professional experience. What matters most is your attitude, the quality of your work, and the drive you bring to everything you do. Curiosity about media, M&A, and value creation is essential – expertise is not. To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A natural eye for design: You can take a rough concept and turn it into a clean, professional, and visually engaging PowerPoint slide or document, and have an eye for spotting errors and finessing design.
- Impeccable written English: You can write concise and compelling copy, with excellent grammar and spelling, and an eye for detail.
- High‑level organisational and time‑management skills: You can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without dropping the ball – you can work quickly, under pressure and to deadlines.
- AI and tech‑savviness: You are an enthusiastic adopter of AI tools and methodologies, and are comfortable learning new software quickly (e.g., Method Grid, SharePoint, Synthesia).
- A ‘finisher’s’ mindset: You take pride in closing loops and ensuring a task is 100% complete before moving on.
- Proactive communication: You aren’t afraid to chase a senior stakeholder for feedback, flag a potential delay before it becomes a problem, or suggest new ideas.
- Professional maturity: You operate with discretion and good judgement – including in ambiguous situations and when navigating competing priorities. You know when to ask for guidance and when to get on with it.
- A collaborative team player: You bring positive energy and support the people around them.
- Curiosity and aptitude: You may not know the M&A or media world yet, but you have a genuine desire to learn how these businesses work.
Desirable
- Experience with project management tools: Familiarity with Trello, Asana, Monday.com or similar platforms.
- Advanced creative skills: Experience with tools like Canva, Synthesia, or basic video editing software.
- Previous professional exposure: Employment, internships or placement years in an editorial, corporate, consulting, or professional services environment.
- Data literacy: Comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets for basic tracking, analysis and reporting.
