Ready to be the financial partner behind the next stage of a growing events business? Looking for a role where you sit at the top table, shape the strategy and see your work translate directly into value? TAC Insights creates some of the most valuable enterprise technology events in Europe. Our conferences bring together senior technology leaders, customers, solution providers and industry experts in the SAP ecosystem to solve real business challenges, build meaningful connections and accelerate digital transformation.

We're a profitable, growing business of around 30 people, generating circa €4-5m in revenue with strong gross margins. Having recently completed a management buyout, we're now professionalising how we plan, report and make decisions as we build towards a significantly larger, more valuable business over the next three years.

That’s why we're looking for an experienced, hands‑on CFO to join our leadership team on a part‑time basis and become a genuine partner to our CEO.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll join our leadership team alongside our Commercial Director and Product Director, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with him on the financial strategy of the business. You will:

  • Own the financial strategy, reporting and controls for the business
  • Lead and develop our finance team of two, building their capability and driving efficiency/innovation in how they work
  • Drive AI, automation and systems transformation across the business to improve productivity, reporting and scalability
  • Build robust forecasting models, management information packs and KPI cadence
  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle and ongoing cash flow forecasting
  • Continuously review the company's cost base and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Manage banking relationships and support debt servicing and covenant management
  • Provide board‑level reporting and governance discipline as we scale
  • Partner with the Product and Commercial teams on pricing and commercial value levers
  • Advise the CEO on capital allocation, including dividends, reinvestment and debt paydown
  • Support the design and implementation of a future employee equity (EMI) scheme
  • Build the financial foundations and team capability needed for sustained growth

This is a hands‑on strategic role. You’ll be building the engine as much as reading the dashboard, and you’ll be trusted to run with it.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll likely have experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in:

  • A B2B organisation, ideally in events, exhibitions, media or subscriptions
  • A business that has been through a genuine scale journey
  • A growth or private equity‑backed environment

You’ll Also Bring

  • A mature, partnership‑oriented approach to working with a founder‑led leadership team
  • Proven experience managing and developing a small finance team
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting and cash flow management skills
  • Board pack and management information discipline
  • Comfort acting as a bridge between finance and commercial/product decision‑making
  • Genuine comfort and fluency with AI and modern data tools
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar systems (a bonus, not essential)
  • Exposure to exit planning and/or EMI or other equity incentive schemes (a bonus, not essential)

Why join TAC?

We know great people want more than just a role. That's why we offer:

  • A genuine seat at the leadership table, with real influence over strategy
  • Flexibility on structure and days to suit the right person
  • A close, partnership‑style working relationship with the CEO
  • The chance to build financial infrastructure from the ground up
  • Involvement in future equity participation as the business scales
  • The opportunity to be part of a business heading towards a meaningful exit

Most importantly, you’ll join a close, ambitious leadership team where your judgement is valued and your impact is visible.

About TAC Insights

We’re growing quickly, investing in our team, and building a business that combines commercial success with exceptional customer experiences.
