As a Commercial Catering/Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for service and maintenance of industrial and commercial catering/refrigeration equipment and occasionally carrying out installations. Reporting directly to the General Service Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, install & commission commercial catering/refrigeration equipment, such as combination ovens, fryers, grills and griddles, cooking ranges & dishwashers, walk‑ins, display chillers, bottle fridges etc.
- Test and undertake quality assurance checks to verify that the commercial catering equipment is working in accordance with its design specification and current regulations, including air quality tests.
- Diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving faults, and organising repairs as required.
- Ensuring all part numbers align with the parts required on any given job.
- Periodic checks including gas and electricity safety checks.
- Completing manual and electronic job sheets upon conclusion of site visit.
- Maintaining regular communication with service coordinators.
- Maintaining and checking van stock.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years commercial engineering experience in catering/refrigeration equipment, industrial catering/refrigeration equipment or similar highly desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to fault‑find and solve complex problems.
- Strong organisation skills, ability to prioritise and multi‑task effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Hold or be able to hold CRB/DDC clearance.
- Qualified and registered engineer with Gas Safe/Refcom.
- Ability to work flexible and unsociable hours occasionally.
