Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Surveyor to join our Rating team. The successful candidate will provide professional advice on business rates for a diverse portfolio of commercial properties, helping clients minimise liabilities, manage risk, and navigate the UK rating system.The role offers exposure to a wide range of sectors including office, industrial, retail, leisure, logistics, and mixed-use developments, working with both occupiers and investors.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of commercial rating instructions across multiple property sectors.Analyse rental evidence, valuation data, and market trends to support rating assessments.Conduct property inspections and collect relevant valuation information.Negotiate with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) to achieve favourable rating outcomes.Advise clients on business rates liabilities, reliefs, exemptions, and mitigation strategies.Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service delivery.Work collaboratively with colleagues across valuation, agency, lease advisory, and property management teams.QualificationsSkills & ExperienceEssentialDegree in Real Estate, Estate Management, Surveying, or a related discipline.Progressing towards or qualified as a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS), or equivalent relevant experience.Experience in commercial property rating or valuation.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Familiarity with property databases and rating software.Willingness to travel for property inspections and client meetings when required.Additional InformationAdditional InformationPlease tell us what would help you take part and give enough practical detail for us to arrange it.
