Design & Build is one of the fastest-growing teams within Colliers, bringing together architects, researchers, cost consultants, project managers, MEP designers, and specialists to deliver integrated fit-out and commercial space transformation projects. The Architect is responsible for independently designing and coordinating office and commercial interior projects within a BIM environment. You will manage design packages from concept through executive documentation and support project delivery in close cooperation with Project Managers and consultants.
Core Responsibilities- Design Leadership
- Prepare office space layout plans and test fits
- Develop space planning concepts, design of office and commercial interiors from concept to completion
- Produce mood boards, material palettes, and FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) selections
- Prepare tender documentation and assist in the preparation of executive documentation
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and fire safety regulations
- Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate directly with clients to define project requirements, workplace strategy, and design expectations
- Lead or support client presentations including layouts, 3D visuals, and material concepts
- Advise clients on workplace trends, functionality, and space optimization
- Coordinate with MEP designers, structural consultants, and project managers
- Participate in client workshops and briefing sessions
- Manage client feedback and implement design revisions efficiently
- Project Delivery Support
- Participate in design supervision during the construction phase to ensure design intent is maintained
- Review shop drawings, technical submittals, and material samples for compliance with design and specifications
- Support resolution of design-related issues on site in coordination with contractors and consultants
- Track design changes and maintain updated drawing sets (revision control)
- Assist in snagging/punch list inspections and project close-out
- Documentation & Quality Control
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and coordination of all drawing packages
- Maintain BIM standards, layer structure, and naming conventions
- Perform clash detection coordination with MEP and other disciplines
- Support internal design reviews, QA, and internal processes
- Degree in Architecture / Interior Architecture
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in an architectural office (including office interior projects)
- Strong knowledge of Archicad and Twin Motion
- Fluent in Czech and English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of building regulations and fire safety requirements
- Experience in commercial fit-out delivery is an advantage
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles is an advantage
- Proven experience managing projects independently
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Confident communicator with clients, landlords, and occupiers
- Ability to manage multiple instructions and prioritise effectively
- Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, revenue-driven environment
