Location: Portsmouth

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 | Friday: 07:30 – 13:00

Are you an experienced quality professional with a strong background in inspection and a keen eye for detail? Our client, a well-established electronics manufacturer, is seeking a proactive Quality Team Lead to join their team and take ownership of daily operations within their inspection department.

This is a hands-on supervisory role, ideal for someone who enjoys combining leadership with technical involvement. You will be responsible for managing departmental output, supporting customer requirements, and maintaining high standards of product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day activities of inspection staff
  • Schedule and plan workload to meet production and quality targets
  • Maintain and manage calibration records and inspection equipment
  • Carry out and submit First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
  • Act as the main point of contact for technical and build-related customer queries
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Maintain the customer specification register and ensure compliance
  • Perform in-process inspections including crimping and soldering checks
  • Liaise with customers to resolve technical or quality-related issues

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and ability to interpret them
  • Experience in electrical continuity testing and use of basic measuring tools
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail and methodical approach to quality assurance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of IPC-620 Standards (advantageous)
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and inspection software
  • Previous experience with Cirrus and Analyser test systems beneficial (training provided if required)
