Location: Halifax, HX2 0DF

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Monday to Friday 08.00hrs to 17.00hrs

The Divisions are integrated between each other which allow a ‘One stop shop' service. The Company specialise in the Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Heavy Engineering, Renewables and Civil & Infrastructure markets, transporting and moving difficult loads within the UK & Worldwide.

Learning and Development Manager - The Role:

Working as part of the Compliance team, this appointment will report directly to the Compliance Director, undertaking all of the Training and development needs of the workforce. This role is integral to the future success of the department. We have a Training regime and recording process for all of the employees, including an in house / external training center for all types of training provided by the company. Travel will be required to service our operatives based at our additional depots at Bradford, Goole and Grangemouth. Also, travel will be required to service client requirements from time to time.

Learning and Development Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be required to actively participate in the development of the training facility and lead the development of the entire workforce.
  • Administration of current and new courses, ensuring compliance with the training providers / bodies requirements.
  • Flexibility in the working week is required. Sometimes the undertaking of driver CPC training can be undertaken on weekends (usually Saturdays).

Learning and Development Manager - Key Stakeholders:

  • Undertaking driver CPC training sessions.
  • Manual Handling Training.
  • Assisting / undertaking company induction process.
  • Administration of the renewal of courses with relevant training bodies.
  • Booking of external courses for the companies' employees.
  • Delivery of approved internal qualifications.
  • Development and delivery of training needs of the entire workforce.
  • Maintaining documentary evidence of internal / external training provided.
  • Undertaking the administration of, delivery and assessment of the HTA City & Guilds Abnormal Loads, Escort Driver Qualifications (training provided).
  • Administration of all the companies training programs.

Learning and Development Manager - You:

  • Possess a Recognised Teaching Qualification.
  • Possess Internal Verifiers Qualification.
  • Previous experience of undertaking vocational assessments, ideally holding formal assessment qualification.
  • Experience of developing training courses, from inception to delivery.
  • Experience within the Logistics, Road haulage or Heavy Lifting industry - preferred but not essential as training will be given.
  • FORS Approved Safe Urban Driving trainer, preferred but not essential.
  • Approved Manual Handling Trainer, preferred but not essential.
  • Demonstrates a high level of competence and awareness of documentation, recording and reporting.
  • Full UK Driving License holder is essential (Cat B minimum, C or C+E would be advantageous).
