As part of their operations, Collett have a world-renowned reputation for the delivery of Wind Turbine components (and other Indivisible Abnormal Load movements) in the Renewable Energy industry. The consulting department has been developed with this unique in-house expertise and is responsible for the company’s abnormal load transport planning and reporting.
The continued expansion of the Consulting division is focused on developing in the Renewables sector and therefore the opportunity has arisen to appoint a CAD technician / surveyor to provide the services listed below, in relation to Traffic and Transport Assessments and reporting.
The Company carries ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO 27001 and ISO45001 certification.
CAD Technician Surveyor – The Role:
Working as part of the Consulting team, this appointment will report directly to the Consulting Manager. The role is office based but will require site meetings and attendance on a UK and sometimes EU basis from time to time.
CAD Technician Surveyor – Key Responsibilities:
– Carry out SPA (Swept Path Analysis) via our AutoCAD software
– Assessing, reviewing and designing loading and transport methods using CAD
– Production of route assessment and project reports and CAD drawings
– Have direct contact and communicate with clients, contractors and colleagues
– Carry out route surveying and analysis
– Carry out land-based topographical surveying using calibrated instruments and surveying equipment
CAD Technician Surveyor – You:
– Qualified to ‘A’ Level standard
– Knowledge of transport and/or engineering/surveying standards and best practices
– Experience with CDM regulations
– Good level of 2D AutoCAD experience. 3D AutoCAD would be an advantage but not essential
– Experience of working in a pro-active manner, self-motivated and well organised
– An effective team player who is articulate, numeric and confident
– Must have excellent communication skills with client/colleagues/contractors
– A valid Driving License and Passport is essential as UK and some European travel will be expected (incorporating overnight stays when required) to attend site meetings and service client requirements as required
Additional knowledge of the following would be an advantage:
– Understanding of Mechanical and or Civil Engineering principles
– Route planning and logistics industry
– Planning applications and processes
