We are seeking an enthusiastic Compliance Assistant to join our Compliance Team at our Halifax depot. This is a permanent, full-time position where you will become part of our existing team, learning to maintain management systems and training requirements within a dynamic and fast-moving operation. The role involves monitoring and reporting on the company's telematics systems, and you will report directly to the Compliance Manager. Industry-approved further education will be provided for the right candidate. The successful applicant will enjoy a varied workload and have the opportunity to help grow and develop the compliance department, contributing to the company's continued development and their own prospects for promotion. Training will be provided in the necessary disciplines, after a satisfactory probationary period.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting to complete 'Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety' reviews and audits.
- Maintaining administrative systems to enable the Compliance Team to stay abreast of planned and operational contracts.
- Documenting Company lifting equipment in line with all PUWER and LOLER regulations.
- Assisting the update of all Compliance and Training records.
- Assisting the implementation of Compliance and training requirements.
- Preparation of operational data such as telematics reports, tachograph uploads, fuel consumption etc.
- Data inputting / analysis to company requirements.
- Updating and maintaining FORS and other compliance documents.
- Checking of Tachograph downloads for compliance with regulations.
- Assisting the company trainers in administrative duties, preparation of training programs.
- Any other reasonable requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel spreadsheets.
- Interest in current developments in Health & Safety and Environmental legislations.
- Demonstrates a high level of competence in documenting, recording and reporting.
- A current driving licence would be advantageous but not essential.
LOCATION & CONDITIONS
The role is based at our Halifax depot, but you may be required to travel to other depots or clients to oversee or manage certain tasks. Anticipated normal working hours are Monday to Friday 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs. However, overtime and weekend work may be required depending on business demands. The position includes 28 days of holiday per year, including bank holidays. Company contributions to the pension scheme are offered, subject to conditions. Overnight subsistence costs are covered when away from base. A holiday purchase scheme is also available, subject to conditions.
